Este libro (una edici\u00f3n del Centro de Estudios Bizantinos, Neogriegos y Chipriotas \u2013serie, Fuentes y Documentos, no 9, Granada 2017) se acerca a la Grecia de Venizelos a trav\u00e9s del prisma de la diplomacia espa\u00f1ola de aquel tiempo. Los embajadores espa\u00f1oles de entreguerras calificaron a Venizelos como un \u201cgran estadista recto, competente y patriota\u201d, pero tambi\u00e9n como \u201cun megal\u00f3mano que muchas veces escog\u00eda a los ciegamente sumisos en lugar de los m\u00e1s competentes\u201d. En cierta medida, para la diplomacia espa\u00f1ola, las dos caras de Venizelos reflejan la divisi\u00f3n nacional del pa\u00eds, el dijasm\u00f3s, dado que el \u201cgran cretense\u201d sufri\u00f3 sus dos mayores derrotas justo en el momento en que todo anunciaba que estaba listo (y Grecia junto a \u00e9l) para cosechar los frutos de sus grandes victorias.<\/p>\n
